Safety

Down Under Construction applies a rigid system of control on operational safety from job planning to the finalization of a project when the general public utilizes the infrastructure.

Before a job is ever started, we prepare a site safety plan for each individual project. Prior to crew mobilization, the safety plan is reviewed by each crewmember together with the Vice President of Operations. Site preparation, together with cleanup, are essential parts of the operation to improve safety, maintain crew health and minimize potential hazards. Our objective is to have the project area in a better state when we leave than when we begin.

In all scopes of work, Down Under Construction applies the same approach to safety and site conditions as on all other projects.

Training & Testing-Reinforcing the Basics.

Specific training modules insure crews are competent to operate the required equipment.
Crew members are subjected to rigorous health monitoring and operating procedures, including random drug and alcohol testing.

Crew & Site Safety-All Day, Every Day.

  • Locating all underground utilities and obstructions.
  • Maintaining safe distances from overhead power lines.
  • Protecting against contamination or chemical spills.
  • Controlling site access together with restrictions on operating easements.

Down Under Construction uses the best available instruments, computing hardware and software- operated by experienced, skilled professionals.
